The College of Business Beta Alpha Psi, a national scholastic and professional accounting fraternity (co-ed) for students, operates an accounting library, provides resource materials, and tutoring services to accounting students. Center for Writing and Learning

The Center for Writing and Learning (CWL) provides a variety of instructional services for students, including a Writing Center and a Study Skills Program. This Writing Center is open to every undergraduate or graduate writer on campus, from any discipline; writers from faculty, staff or the Corvallis area residents are also welcome. Writing Center Assistants help writers with such matters as brainstorming, organizing, and revising, and they can help writers find answers to questions of grammar and usage as well.

For half-hour or hour-long appointment call 737-5640. Short questions about grammar may also be sent by e-mail to the Writing Center Hotline at WritingQ@lists.orst.edu.

Chemistry

Chemistry Department has a continually updated tutor list. Any student may contact any individual on the list to discuss fees and times. The fees are set by the individual tutor; however, the general charge is approximately $10.00 per hour. The location and times are set by the tutor and the student. All tutors are available to any student based on the tutor's schedule and time available. The tutor list will be available in the Chemistry Office - Gilbert 153. Also, Mole Hole is the general chemistry tutorial room. It is open during weeks 2-10 of each term. It is located in the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) which is in the southeast corner of the main floor of the Valley Library. Ethnic Studies

The Department of Ethnic Studies offers mentoring and advising for students of color and anyone interested in and committed to changing social patterns of race, gender, ethnic, class, sexual discrimination. Call 737-0709.

First Year Students at Callahan

Callahan features a "request for help" system. Students post a bulletin board with "request slips" that allow residents to ask for help with any class or with writing. They can ask for help in organizing a study group for any class. Free and open to Callahan residents.

Foreign Languages and Literatures

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures regularly offers tutorial support to students enrolled in French, German, and Spanish courses. The tutorials are free of charge. The scheduled times for tutorials vary from term to term. Information can be obtained from the FL&L office (210 Kidder Hall).

Forestry

In the College of Forestry, the forestry academic honorary society, Xi Sigma Pi, offers tutoring to students in forestry classes or subjects related to those majors. Usually free. Contact Klaus Peuttmann at klaus.puettmann@oregonstate.edu.

Mathematics

The Math Learning Center will be open each term starting the Monday of the second week of classes through the last week of classes ("Dead Week"). Hours for drop-in tutoring help and the Math Learning Center resource desk are 9 am - 6 pm Monday through Thursday and 9 am - 5 pm on Friday. If you are looking for a specific helper, check the hour-by-hour schedule of tutors posted by the front door and inside the Math Learning Center (Kidder 108). The services offered include a well-lit study area with tables and a coin-operated photocopy machine, free drop-in tutoring (provided by GTA's, faculty volunteers, and hired undergraduate tutors), resources (texts, solution manuals, graphing calculators, etc.) to check out for use in the Math Learning Center. Physics

Weniger 145 is staffed from 8am to 6pm (with some exceptions) by Physics graduate students offering help with questions from students in the introductory Physics courses. Tutors are available and can be arranged by asking in the main office (Weniger 301) or in the SPS office (Weniger 383).
